Subscriptions and free limits
What is free forever, what the free hire-request allowance covers, and exactly what a subscription changes.
Most of AutoGineer costs nothing to use. There is one allowance — posting hire requests — and a subscription lifts it. Everything else you can do as a free client, you can do indefinitely.
Free, with no limit
- Browsing services, experts, jobs, and the template library.
- Messaging experts and asking questions before you commit.
- Ordering a service directly, and funding it.
- Receiving and accepting custom offers from experts.
- Running projects: milestones, revisions, approvals, disputes, reviews.
Counts against the free allowance
- Posting a hire request (a job) to the job board — 3 free by default.
When you reach the limit
You are told before it costs you anything. The post-a-job action shows how many you have left as you approach the limit, and once it is reached the action explains that a subscription is required and offers the plans. Nothing is ever charged automatically, and the limit is enforced on the server — so it is the same number in the web app and the mobile app.
You are not locked out of hiring
Reaching the job-posting limit does not stop you hiring. Ordering a service, accepting an offer, and messaging experts directly all keep working. A subscription is only needed to keep posting new jobs to the board.
Billing mechanics
- Subscriptions are charged in advance and recur until you cancel.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
- Cancelling never touches active projects or held escrow — money already in escrow follows the escrow rules, not the subscription.
- Payment is taken on the hosted checkout of our payment processor. Card details are never entered into AutoGineer and we never see them.
