Platform rules and limits (reference)

Every configurable rule on the platform in one table: fees, windows, caps, and what happens when each one is reached.

This is the reference page. Every rule below is set by the platform operator, applies to everyone, and is enforced by the server rather than by the interface — so it holds whether you are on the web app, the mobile app, or the API. The values shown are the shipped defaults; the live value always wins and is shown at the point it applies.

The windows are the part people get caught by

Fees are visible and predictable. Time windows are the rules that cost people money, because they pass while you are not looking. Four of them matter:

1

Checkout window (30 minutes)

A funding session expires if unpaid. Nothing is charged and nothing is reserved — just start it again. It exists so stale sessions cannot be paid days later against a changed contract.

2

Requirements grace period (7 days)

After funding, the client owes the expert what they actually need. An expert cannot be held to a deadline for work they were never briefed on, so this window protects the expert, not the client.

3

Review window before auto-release (7 days)

Once the expert submits, the client has this long to approve, request a revision, or dispute. Doing nothing releases the money. This protects the expert from an absent client.

4

Identity verification validity (365 days)

An expert’s verification expires. You are warned 30 days ahead. Let it lapse and expert-only actions stop working until you re-verify.

Caps are per object, not per account

The applicant cap is per job, and the milestone cap is per contract. Hitting either does not restrict your account — a full job simply stops accepting proposals, and a five-milestone contract simply cannot be split further.
