This policy sets out what you may not do on AutoGineer. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaching it can lead to content being removed, a payout being withheld, or an account being suspended or closed.
We build automation tooling, so we are specific rather than vague: writing automation that logs into a system you are authorised to use is the job, and writing automation to attack, scrape or overload a system you are not authorised to touch is abuse. Section 4 draws that line.
1.Keeping engagements on the Platform
We hold funds, provide the dispute process and keep the record. Taking an engagement off the Platform removes all three protections, usually from whichever party has more to lose.
- •Do not ask a user to pay you directly for work introduced through the Platform, and do not offer to.
- •Do not propose moving an engagement off-Platform to avoid fees.
- •Do not put contact details, external payment links, or messaging handles intended for off-Platform contact into a listing, Job, Proposal, review or attachment.
- •Do not encourage a Client to cancel and re-engage privately.
Naming a tool is not solicitation. A Job that says "post to Telegram and Slack" is describing the work. "Message me on Telegram" is solicitation. Our moderation is calibrated for that difference, and a person reviews anything it flags.
2.Honesty about who you are and what you have done
- •Do not misrepresent your identity, location, experience, employer or credentials.
- •Do not present someone else's work, portfolio or profile as your own.
- •Do not claim a track record you do not have. Our AI can draft a cover letter for you, but you are the sender and you are responsible for every claim in it.
- •Do not operate multiple accounts to evade limits, moderation, fees or a suspension.
- •Do not offer, request, exchange or pay for reviews, and do not condition approval or payment on a favourable review.
- •Do not bid on your own Job, or arrange for someone to do so, to manufacture activity or reviews.
3.Content
Do not post, upload, request or deliver content that:
- •infringes copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or any other right;
- •is unlawful, defamatory, deceptive or fraudulent;
- •harasses, threatens, or promotes hatred or violence against a person or group, including on the basis of a protected characteristic;
- •is sexually explicit, or sexualises a minor in any way;
- •discloses another person's private or personal information without a lawful basis;
- •contains credentials, API keys or secrets belonging to someone else; or
- •you do not have the right to provide.
Do not upload another person's personal data into a Project unless you have a lawful basis. If you put your customers' data into a deliverable or a message, that is your decision and your responsibility.
4.Automation: where the line is
Most automation work is legitimate. These specific uses are not, whether you are requesting them or delivering them.
Not permitted
- •Malware, ransomware, backdoors, keyloggers or credential-harvesting tooling.
- •Automation designed to attack, denial-of-service, brute-force, or overload a system.
- •Scraping or accessing a system in breach of its terms, its robots directives, or the law — including bypassing authentication, rate limits or anti-bot measures.
- •Spam at scale, bulk unsolicited messaging, or evading a platform's anti-spam controls.
- •Manipulating engagement metrics, votes, polls, reviews or rankings on any platform.
- •Mass surveillance, tracking a person without consent, or profiling on protected characteristics.
- •Facial or biometric identification of private individuals.
- •Phishing pages, spoofed domains, or content impersonating a real person or business.
- •Circumventing licensing, DRM or payment controls.
Permitted, and normal
- •Automating systems and accounts you own or are authorised to act on.
- •Using a vendor's documented API within its terms and rate limits.
- •Scraping public data where it is lawful and the source permits it.
- •Sending messages to people who asked to receive them, through channels that allow it.
- •Security work on your own systems, or on a system where you can show authorisation.
If a Client asks you for something in the first list, decline and report it. Delivering it breaches this policy even though you were asked, and we will act against both accounts.
5.Platform integrity
- •Do not attempt to access another user's account, data or Project.
- •Do not probe, scan or test our security without our written permission, and report anything you find to us.
- •Do not circumvent moderation, fee calculation, limits, verification, escrow or any technical restriction.
- •Do not scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract Platform data, and do not access the Platform by automated means except through an interface we provide for that purpose.
- •Do not interfere with the Platform's operation, or with another user's use of it.
- •Do not use the Platform for money laundering, sanctions evasion, or to move funds unrelated to genuine work.
6.How we enforce this
We use the least severe measure that addresses the problem. Depending on seriousness and history, we may:
- •hide or remove content, or hold a listing from public view pending review;
- •require verification, or reverse an approval;
- •limit features on an account;
- •withhold a payout or reverse a release where funds are implicated;
- •suspend an account temporarily; or
- •close an account permanently and decline future registrations.
Content may be flagged automatically, including by AI. Automated screening is imperfect in both directions, so a human decision by us overrides it. Where it is lawful and practical, we will tell you what happened and give you the opportunity to respond. You may ask us to review any decision by opening a ticket.
Funds held on a suspended account are dealt with under the Terms and applicable law. We do not treat a suspension as forfeiting your money to us.
7.Reporting a breach
If you see something that breaches this policy, report it. Open a ticket in the in-product Support & tickets area or email [email protected] with enough detail to identify the content or account, and what you believe is wrong. Reports about safety, fraud or money are prioritised.
To report content you believe infringes your intellectual property, include the material, the right you hold, and a statement of your good-faith belief. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
